Mountain Trip Day 2

This is the infamous driveway.

We got up this morning had breakfast, then we sat out down the mountain to Cherokee of the kids were so excited to see a real Indian. We stopped at the first one we saw hoped to get the kids pictures made with him goodness we made a wise choice. His name was Chief Crazy Horse. He was very friendly. He explained allot of Indian words to us.He explained that the 3 feathers in their headdress stood for The Father,Son & Holy Ghost.
Later we saw a carnival so of course the kids had to ride.Next we stopped at a creek. The kids and Papa walked around on the rocks and had a good time.
Back at the cabin there is beautiful creek so that is where the kids wanted to play all the time.
I fell in love with the wrap around porch.I was able to sit outside listen and watch the creek and everyone enjoying it.

We are off to the mountains

It is Friday morning and we are off to Maggie Valley,North Carolina Sandra,Uncle Jimmy,Karen,Paula,John,Calvin,& I along with Judy,Steve Spires and their grandadughter Lauren.
It's 10:00 AM,we are heading up I-26.Aunt Sandra is driving, we are watching Scooby-Doo on video when Aunt Sandra says,"I smell smoke"! So we pulled off on the shoulder of the road, and the men decided the brakes were burning because they were adjusted to tight. So we pulled it a parking lot and sat for about an hour until Steve could adjust the brakes.
We were on the road again. We went back to our movie. But when we hit a bump the picture would go out so Uncle Jimmy would bang his fist under the tv to get the picture back. So every few minutes we heard papa "Hit It"After stopping for lunch and a few potty breaks we arrived in Maggie Valley. We turned off of the main road and wound up a little mountain road to get to the cabin we were staying in for the weekend.
When we got to the top of the driveway,I looked at Aunt Sandra and said"Are we going to be able to take the van down this hill without turning over".She said "Sure".We were scared and trying not to scare the boys.We made it down but the yard was so narrow that two vehicles cannot park beside each other. So Steve had to put his truck on the driveway.
Uncle Jimmy was going to turn the van around so that the lift would be on the right side of the door, but Calvin was scared that the van was going to fall off the mountain and he made everyone but Uncle Jimmy get out. Then Aunt Sandra had to take him inside of the cabin so he could not see Uncle Jimmy moving the van.
After we unpacked and rested for a while,we went back down to Maggie Valley and had a nice steak dinner. After all today is my birthday.
We were then off to the Food Lion and back to the cabin.Stay tuned for day 2 of our trip.
hope you are enjoying my story,
Sam
